1. Acceptance of terms

By using thinkalong ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

thinkalong is a thinking partner for conversations that provides:

  • Live transcript with timestamps
  • Real-time questions, insights, and context
  • Research on people and topics mentioned
  • Session history and review

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

4. Subscription plans

Plans

  • Free: 2 hours of conversation time, no credit card required, all features included
  • Personal ($19/month): 10 hours of conversation time, additional 5-hour packs available for $10
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing, contact sales

Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe.
  • Hours reset at the start of each billing period.
  • Unused monthly hours do not roll over.
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Purchased hours

Purchased hour packs are sold in 5-hour increments at $10 each. Purchased hours do not expire. Monthly hours from your subscription are consumed before purchased hours. Purchased hours are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to record conversations without proper consent from all participants
  • Violate any applicable laws, including recording consent laws
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application

6. Recording responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining consent from all participants before recording
  • Complying with all applicable recording and privacy laws
  • Understanding that recording consent laws vary by jurisdiction

thinkalong is not responsible for any legal consequences arising from unauthorized recording.

7. Intellectual property

  • Your content: You retain all rights to your transcripts, insights, and session data.
  • Our service: thinkalong and its underlying technology are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

8. Data and privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy policy. Key points:

  • Audio is streamed directly to AssemblyAI (not through our servers)
  • Transcripts and session data are stored securely in your account
  • We store account and usage data only

9. Service availability

  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service with 30 days notice.

10. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your account data is deleted per our retention policy. You can export your sessions before deleting your account.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction: PENDING LEGAL REVIEW], without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You and thinkalong agree that any dispute will be resolved in the courts of [Jurisdiction: PENDING LEGAL REVIEW].
